‘America’s Got Talent’ finalist spotlight: Brian Justin Crum
Path so far – While he has not received a single Golden Buzzer over the course of the competition, he gave one fantastic performance after another culminating in a cover of “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” during the last live performance show. He’s never needed the Dunkin’ Save and has consistently improved and brought in many fans, both notable and otherwise.
Strengths – A tremendous voice, and with him being the only male solo act left, he has a good chance of standing out from the crowd. When you consider that the majority of past show winners are male singers, it gives you a good sense of what America loves. He’s never needed a save to get to the next round, so odds are he’s got a pretty sizable following that will rival anyone left.
Weaknesses – There are still a lot of other singers left, and that includes Grace VanderWaal, considered by many to be a favorite from her opening audition onward. This is a higher level of comeptition for him, and a good half of the remaining acts have some sort of vocal component to them.
Also, you can argue that Brian’s never been tested too much in terms of performing in an unfavorable spot on the show. He performed last during an audition, in the second hour of his first live show, and the tail end of the second. This is what we call the primo spot, folks!
Odds of winning – High. While he’s not #1 on our board (we’ll reveal our final rankings on Tuesday morning), we do know Brian has the talent to win and he may very well have the fans. History at this point is on his side.
