‘Power’ season 3, episode 9 video: Kanan, Milan, and other problems
The third season of “Power” is definitely one that has showcased a variety of different twists, but perhaps the thing that James St. Patrick needs to be the most worried about is the one that has operated as a little bit more of a slow born: The state of things with his Kanan and his son Tariq.
Over the course of season 3, we’ve seen Kanan recover slowly from his injuries, and he is now not only back, but in a place where he placed himself in an influential spot with Jamie’s son. The promo for the September 18 episode below makes that all the clearer.
To think, this is already a kid who took Angela’s gun and is in the process of acting out majorly ever since his father moved out. He hasn’t had the time to really focus in on it. Kanan is the sort of person who knows that if he is not hurting Jamie physically, the next best thing he can do (or in some levels, worse) is to hurt him emotionally. Depriving him of a substantial relationship with his son is a good way to do that.
As for what else we’re expecting in this episode, the preview definitely suggests that there is more tension brewing between Jamie and Tommy over the whole Milan situation, and the latter has a good point: Given everything that he has been through including the death of Holly, Ghost really should have his back. To date, that hasn’t happened 100% of the time. This does remind us, though, that the way the show has treated Holly’s death so far is probably the weakest thing it’s done so far this season. Didn’t it deserve just a little more reverence?
