‘Supernatural’ season 12 promo: The search for Sam and more

With the new season of “Supernatural” coming to The CW early next month, the network is starting to lift the veil on a few goodies — and that apparently includes the first promo below!

While this may only be twenty seconds long, it feels like there’s a lot of good stuffed packed in here, whether it be the search for Sam (who was captured by the British chapter of the Men of Letters at the end of last season) to Dean’s family time with Mary Winchester to even the first appearance of Rick Springfield as the new Lucifer. This should be a role that especially a whole lot of fun, mostly because of the opportunity it yields in terms of us getting to see a whole new side to this devlish character.

Over the course of the entire season, we are expecting a collection of episodes that, at least for the most part, captures more of the feel of the earlier seasons of the show. We specifically mean this in reference to some of what we could end up seeing a lot of classic monster stories, and also an overall arc that is a little more personal and not so grandiose as God fighting with his sister. This should be fun to see, especially since not every problem within this world needs to be that epic. This show is, at least to us, at its best when the characters are having fun and getting a chance to do some crazy stuff that tests the writers’ imagination.
