‘Suits’ season 6, episode 9 review: Did Mike Ross finally get out of prison?
At the end of this past episode of “Suits,” we saw Mike Ross get to a place that he’s been fighting for almost all summer: One that did not involve a prison cell. Yet, in the process he has also shown himself to someone with a moral code. He could’ve thrown Kevin Miller under the bus, but he didn’t.
In the end, what he got instead was a situation where Kevin had a chance to see his wife and family once more, and Mike … well, he had one more trick to pull after Sean Cahill announced that his deal was seemingly gone. That made us hopeless, but thanks to more mastery by him and Harvey, things turned around! Mike eventually did get out, and by the closing minutes he also managed to successfully time Frank to the point where even on the outside, nothing would be done to hurt him.
In the end, the most important thing is that Mike DID get out of prison. Everything be defied! He has his new lease on life, and he also luckily has it with Rachel at his side. This is a happy ending, and we don’t get that very often on this show. Of course, there are still some struggles ahead…
Rachel and Jessica fight for Leonard Bailey – After Jessica first told the inmate to accept the plea deal, she eventually came around to Rachel’s thinking enough to encourage Leonard to fight. He’ll have another date in court to prove his innocence, and in the process finally got to see his daughter again.
Your Louis Litt update – Could he actually find love, after all? While Tara’s long-distance boyfriend came to New York and proposed, she wasn’t able to say yes while she continued to have feelings for him. Based on that, it looks like the two of them could be trying to make something happen here exclusively.
In the end, we’d consider this to be yet another excellent installment that had a heck of a lot going on. There was some drama, some serious heartstring-pulling, and a situation where the summer finale is set to be all sorts of explosive. For some characters in particular, we’re venturing into the great unknown. Grade: B+.
