‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 production officially underway!
While it may not be easy to learn much of anything definite regarding the upcoming seventh season of “Game of Thrones,” we can at least pass along the following rather-joyous slice of news: Production is officially underway for the series!
It was confirmed recently by Entertainment Weekly that production is officially underway for the upcoming seventh season of the show, which deliberately chose to get off to a much later start than usual in order to better replicate the cooler conditions in Westeros with winter finally arriving. We imagine snowier conditions, and also plenty of enormous action set pieces to go along with it.
The seventh season is going to premiere later than usual in the summer of 2017 thanks to the late start, and it’s also going to be a little bit shorter than usual. Specifically, think along the lines of seven episodes rather than the usual ten. There are only thirteen episodes left in the entire series, and it looks as thought those are going to be split up over the course of two years.
From here on out, we definitely expect things to be incredibly secretive when it comes to the behind-the-scenes working on the show. After all, just remember for a minute here that we’re ahead of the books! There is no incentive for HBO to reveal anything in advance, and it could be spring before they decide to go even anywhere close to that direction.
