‘Major Crimes’ season 5 spoilers: Summer finale will offer closure on Buzz investigation
While Monday night’s “Major Crimes” episode is going to begin the three-part “White Lies” arc (which is technically a continuation of everything you saw earlier this week), that does not mean we’re completely abandoning some storylines that have been simmering for most of the season. Take, for example, a little bit of something that has been going on with Buzz as he works to investigate what happened to his late father.
By the end of the show’s summer run, we could (finally) have some answers. Want some further evidence of that? Then take a look at the synopsis below (via SpoilerTV) for September 19’s “White Lies: Part 3,” which is more than likely the last episode you’re going to see until the fall / winter:
“Major Crimes hurtles forward towards the mysterious and elusive mastermind in the Dwight Darnell murders while Buzz and Rusty’s investigation into the murder of Buzz’s father comes to an unexpected end.”
One thing that could be especially interesting about this episode is that at one particular point in time, this episode could have been written as a possible season finale given that TNT didn’t order additional episodes until later on in the run. Could it also feel like a series finale? We’d be a little surprised about that, just because the producers of the show had to feel at least fairly confident that they were going to be getting more of the show at the time in which they were getting this together.

Don’t you dare jinxing anything by talking about a series finale! – By the way: we still need to know when the squad will be back with the additional episodes AND, equally important: what about a season 6? It’s high time!
As for the 3-parter: I’m looking forward to see Buzz’s storyline concluded (it was a little long-drawn-out on it’s way). Also, I’m very curious to learn whether Julio can/will keep Mark as a foster child. With these two ongoing stories wrapped up, there will be room for some interesting ones for Sharon, who has been neglected so far this season. The same is true for Amy and Mike Tao. Maybe it will be their turn in the additional episodes. Can’t wait for the end of the upcoming hiatus!
