Netflix leaves out ‘Longmire,’ promotes ‘Luke Cage,’ ‘Narcos’ in September releases video
Dear folks at Netflix, we really love you guys for bringing “Longmire” aboard for new episodes. It’s a show that has improved every year, and season 4 was ergo its strongest. In particular, Lou Diamond Phillips gave an Emmy-worthy performance.
With that said … what gives with your new promo highlighting new programming for the month? You’ve got in here clips from exclusives like “Luke Cage” and “Narcos,” a good bit of time spent with “Chelsea,” shows like “Gotham” and “Shameless” that don’t even air first on your network, and then movies like “Saving Private Ryan.” Yet, there’s no “Longmire,” which is premiering on September 23 and is certainly a notable exclusive.
There’s no reason to read between the tea leaves or create any conspiracy theory out of this, since it probably is something as simple as someone forgetting to include it. Yet, it’s still a bummer since this is a show that needs all of the promotion it can get, and it doesn’t even have a full trailer out there yet for our viewing enjoyment. (We imagine that there will be one soon — there was more video footage out at this point last season, but season 4 also premiered earlier in the month.)
Of course, we’re here to utter the same promise that we made all of last season with the show: We’ll be here to give you reviews, theories, conversations about next season, and more. We’ll also see about setting up some interviews down the line, since this is a show worthy of all the promotion we can muster.
