‘Chicago PD’ season 4 spoilers: New premiere details hint at trouble for Voight
The fourth season of “Chicago PD” is not going to waste much time at all beating around the bush. Before you know it, the series is going to be diving into some of the questions that many people are interested in knowing: What will happened to Voight in the wake of what he did at the end of last season?
The September 21 premiere for the show is entitled “The Silos,” and the just-released synopsis from NBC makes it clear precisely what you can expect to see from not only this character, but also Lindsay’s involvement in this investigation. Meanwhile, you’re also going to see the arrival of Li Jun Li as Burgess’ new partner, and the two are going to have a chance to bond as they work on their first case together:
“Intelligence investigates a gruesome case. Upon further examination, it appears the victim was wearing a CPD-issued wire at the time of his death. Meanwhile, Burgess (Marina Squerciati) meets her new partner, Julie Tay (guest star Li Jun Li), who came from one of the worst assignments in the city. Together they respond to their first call, and Tay shares details of her past. Additionally, Commander Crowley (guest star Barbara Eve Harris) confronts Lindsay (Sophia Bush) about why she and Voight (Jason Beghe) were at that location on the night that Intelligence pursued Justin’s killer.”
We like the addition of the Tay character in theory, mostly because she shakes things up and adds a different perspective to the team. Given that the role is not confirmed to be long-lasting just yet, we’ll just have to see over time how she factors in with the remainder of the team.
