‘Halt and Catch Fire’ season 3, episode 4 preview: Gordon and the joys of laser tag

Who do you think loves laser tag more: Gordon on “Halt and Catch Fire” or Barney on “How I Met Your Mother”? It’s a good question, and maybe one we’ll get an answer to next week on the AMC show! (Or, probably not, but it’s certainly interesting to think about.)

You get a sense in the promo below that there are some further antics ahead for this character, who probably actually needs a few antics given the amount of super-serious stuff that has transpired in his life as of late. Take, for example, his addictions last year, his ongoing marital trouble, or his feeling like he doesn’t belong. He struggles with communicating with others, and the synopsis below (via TV Guide) suggests that there is a little bit of value in what he could be learning here:

“Donna and Cameron have a hard time coming to a mutual agreement on their acquisition. Meanwhile, Gordon discovers the importance of teamwork through laser tag.”

As for Donna and Cameron’s struggle, that is another reminder of everything that they are going through with their new acquisition, which is going to put up a little bit of a fight (and possibly even a physical one) over some changes that are coming their way. The reality is that the two parties need to work together if they want to spearhead the market, but this is Silicon Valley. Egos run rampant. Therefore, you have to think that there could be chaos around just about any turn (personally, we’re living for that).
