‘Chicago Fire’ season 5 and a touch of literature
While we’ve certainly learned over the years to prepare for surprises when it comes to the One Chicago franchise over at NBC, we do still have to say that the following story does still surprise us in a big way. After all, the last thing that we ever expected to be seeing on “Chicago Fire” season 5 was about two characters teaming up to become authors in the world of firefighter based romance fiction. Yet, that seems to be happening on the coming season.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about this storyline, executive producer Matt Olmstead explains a little bit of the story, and also precisely who is involved in it, as well:
“Brett and Mouch join up to write this firefighter romance lit, which is its own real genre that Mouch gets wind of … [Eventually,] Platt finds out maybe not the way that she would have preferred.”
As for why Platt wouldn’t be all that excited to see Mouch doing something like this, there are a few easy theories that we could speculate on, including that maybe she is unhappy at the idea of Mouch maybe taking some ideas from his own personal life. After all, don’t you write based on what you know? (Just a reminder here that we are speculating here, but this is the most likely scenario in our mind.)
Season 5 is shaping up already to be a rather eventful season for Brett in particular, given that there are also reports out there that she could be getting involved romantically with a certain Antonio Dawson from “Chicago PD.”
