’24: Legacy’ spoilers: Could Chloe O’Brian make an appearance?
Maybe we’ve spent too much time wondering whether or not Kiefer Sutherland could be returning as Jack Bauer on “24: Legacy” next year, since in the process of doing that we’ve completely glossed over another interesting question: Whether or not we could end up seeing Mary Lynn Rajskub return as Chloe O’Brian. The tech guru was an integral part of the original series, and at times was one of the few people Jack had on his side.
Speaking per TVLine recently, show executive producer Evan Katz made it very much clear that there is a good chance that we could see the Chloe character return, explaining that there is something in the works — even if it’s not taking precedence over some other elements with the show:
We have plans [to potentially utilize her] … Right now, our clear priority is [establishing] these new characters, and have the audience build a relationship with them. But we have some surprises planned.”
The new characters include Eric Carter (Corey Hawkins), the latest man to be dragged into the world of the CTU where he could be forced to become an action hero. Meanwhile, Miranda Otto of “Homeland” fame will be the outgoing head of the organization, and the wife of a significant Washington politician (Jimmy Smits). Teddy Sears (“The Flash”) also has a significant role.
We are interested in seeing how this story is pieced together over time, especially in terms of establishing this show as its own thing and something that doesn’t necessarily need the comparisons to the original “24.”
