Ann Coulter, Nikki Glaser, Ralph Macchio, Jewel join Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe
The upcoming Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe just got a little more weird — and a little more nineties than ever before.
Today, the network officially confirmed that singer Jewel, comedian / host Nikki Glaser, Lowe’s former “Outsiders” co-star Ralph Macchio, and conservative pundit Ann Coulter (?) have all signed up to take part in this roast, which is being filmed on Saturday to air come September 5. This may be one of the strangest assemblies of people we’ve seen for any roast to date, given that Jeff Ross, Peyton Manning, Bo Derek, Rob Riggle, and Pete Davidson are also set to appear. You’ve got athletes, comics, actors, and political commentators all entering the fray together!
While seeing Peyton’s name on here mildly surprises us, Coulter easily has to top the list of the names that has our eyes popping out of our brain. It makes no sense why someone so firmly entrenched in the political world, especially given that her policies likely are in opposition to many others on the dais, would want to do this. We imagine that it’ll be entertaining, but will it be for her? Let’s just hope that she’s got a real ability to laugh at herself.
We do admit that despite the relative lack of comedy experience that many of these people have, we’re excited to watch it all play out. After all, even if this is a complete and utter trainwreck all signs point towards it being a thoroughly entertaining one. We’re not sure that we will cover it live just yet, but one way or another we’re going to have extensive coverage all about it.
