‘Chicago Justice’ spoilers: ‘UnREAL’ season 2 alum joins cast
While you may not be getting a chance to see “Chicago Justice” on NBC until midseason, we are rather lucky to keep finding out more and more information about its cast.
Today, that includes learning per a report from Deadline that Monica Barbaro is going to be a series regular. Her character is a Assistant State’s Attorney, and one who is described with the following: “She can drink beers with the boys or take a night out at the opera. She also is not afraid to take risks and get her hands dirty to get justice.”
The character is not a recasting of the one previously set for Nazneen Contractor in the series, but she will help to fill the void left by her departure. Philip Winchester, Carl Weathers, Joelle Carter, and Ryan-James Hatanaka help to round out the cast.
You probably know Barbaro best as an avid TV viewer for her work on “UnREAL” season 2, where she played the part of “Everlasting” contestant / secret journalist Yael. The crew referred to her as “hot Rachel,” but she eventually became someone with the capability to destroy the show with the help of former showrunner Coleman before the two were (spoiler alert) killed off thanks to Jeremy’s tampering in the finale. Basically, we don’t expect to see Yael making a return appearance for season 3.
Hopefully later this fall, we will have more of a specific opportunity to learn when “Chicago Justice” is going to be premiering. It was spun off of “Chicago PD,” so we would assume that there will be some further collaboration between the two moving forward.
