‘Arrow’ season 5 video: First look at Chad L. Coleman!

In preparation for its premiere in early October, “Arrow” season 5 has released its latest promo and we are fairly able to tell right away that this one is pretty darn cool. It’s got action, it’s got drama, and it’s got an appearance from one of the most recognizable guest stars that the show has had from the very beginning.

This said guest star is none other than Chad L. Coleman, who is known by many for his roles on either “The Wire” or as Tyreese on “The Walking Dead.” While you don’t get to see a whole lot of him in this preview, his presence is at least felt. The actor will be playing the part of a powerful gangster, someone looking to unite many of the criminal organizations in Star City. This is the sort of presence that could immediately prove to be rather problematic for Oliver Queen as he works to try and protect Star City in two very different ways. He’s now got the role as Mayor, and to go along with that, you’re also going to be seeing him as the Green Arrow once more.

What’s also nice / notable about this preview is that you do get the smallest of teases from one Thea Queen, whose role on season 5 remains largely a mystery. As you may recall, at the end of season 4 the character (played by Willa Holland) made the decision that she was going to put away the alter ego for a little while in order to discover herself. This should prove to be a rather nice opportunity to see if that has happened.
