‘The Flash’ season 3 spoilers: Latest promo all about Flashpoint

As we near the premiere of “The Flash” on Tuesday, October 4, odds are that The CW is going to start getting more and more generous when it comes to the amount of promos that they release.

If you look below, you can see the latest short clip, and this one is fun primarily for one reason: Flashpoint. It’s really put in the spotlight here, and you’ve got a chance to see a couple of tiny bits of new footage. Specifically, we enjoy the back-and-forth between Barry and Cisco, which means that Barry eventually does figure out that he’s in the wrong timeline, and he trusts the alternate-universe versions of his friends enough to confide in him.

On a different front, a little bit of housecleaning here: “The Vampire Diaries” alum Todd Lasance has in fact been cast, but TVLine reports he will be the speedster known as The Rival as opposed to Savitar, who we and many others believed him to be playing at one point briefly yesterday. Executive producer Greg Berlanti made it clear on Tuesday that this was not the case, and that the Savitar character has not yet been cast, at least for now.

Ultimately, there is a lot of time still to come before “The Flash” season 3 premieres, so we’ll see what other interesting stuff the series / producers have in store for us. Whatever it may be, we’re certainly excited if it continues along the Flashpoint trajectory.
