Is ‘Scream’ new tonight on MTV? The wait ’til Halloween

For everyone out there who loves “Scream” on MTV, the past couple of months have likely felt like quite a thrill ride. We’ve had a chance to meet new characters, be completely freaked-out, and in the end, learn that Kieran was the person behind the infamous mask. Yet, there may be something more out there for us to learn…

Ultimately, the reality here is that season 2 of the show is over, and there is no new episode tonight or for the next couple of months. We’ve got a little bit of a hiatus, and you can use that as a chance to catch your breath.

However, we’re not at the end of the series just yet. MTV has already announced that there is a special coming in October that will offer up some further information and answers, and we think that it is certainly possible that this could function as a series finale. While we’d personally love a third season and am still hoping for one, it does feel like this special is a way to offer up some more fear at the perfect time of the year for it, and also resolve many loose ends to ensure that fans are satisfied. If this does mark the end of the road for the show, it’s certainly better to have it end this way than with a cliffhanger or something that would infuriate most of the fans out there.
