‘Bachelor in Paradise 3’ review: Evan Bass, Carly Waddell’s odd journey continues

Evan -They same sometimes that opposites attract, or at the very least, that weird attracts weird. Evan Bass and Carly Waddell both certainly fit that bill on “Bachelor in Paradise” this summer.

As a whole, this may be the strangest relationship we’ve seen on the show in three years that actually has a chance of working. (We’re not throwing Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon in here for that very reason.) These two actually started to become a little more of an item tonight following their various trials and tribulations this season. If they are still together now, we have to say that this could ultimately be one of the more awkward viewing experiences after the fact out there.

Speaking of awkward, how about Caila not being able to make up her mind on leaving Jared to go on a date without another guy? (Yes, we know he has a date, but he may as well be “another guy” as far as this show is concerned.) All it took was Caila going on a date with someone else to realize that she was interested in him all along.

Let’s talk now the Funniest Moment of the episode: Watching the arrival of Ryan coupled with Jared trying to persuade him to go on a date with Ashley, feeling like this could be his ticket to finally getting somewhere with Caila without her around. Jared’s one of the first real strategists in Paradise history! (Ryan eventually went on a date with Haley, and it was both super-ridiculous and super-boring at the same time.)

Oh, and we should also mention that Izzy Goodkind and Vinny Ventiera — that couple you probably don’t remember much despite them being a part of the show this entire season — had some problems of her own as she started to gravitate more towards Brett. This is your cliffhanger-of-sorts going into tomorrow’s episode. Grade: B-.
