‘Bachelor in Paradise 3’: Jared Haibon on Ashley Iaconetti, not returning for season 4
For those wondering whether or not Jared Haibon could become a three-time “Bachelor in Paradise” contestant in the event that things go terribly south for him this summer, we now have a fairly simple answer to that: It’s not happening. In a new interview with Glamour, the fan favorite makes it clear that even though he was happy that he went back for a second attempt at the series this summer, he has no interest in appearing on his fourth edition of the franchise.
When you think about it, it makes sense: There’s almost an unwritten rule when you appear on your fourth “Bachelor” show that you start to come across a little bit like a punch-line. Take, for example, what happened to Chris Bukowski. Nick Viall has come close to that, and this is only his third time around and first in Paradise.
Meanwhile, Jared also in this interview confirmed that while it may not be easy to believe given their off-the-show friendship, he really did not know for sure that Ashley Iaconetti would be taking part with him:
“I didn’t know she was going on prior. She was told specifically not to…uh, maybe not to let me know. We talked about it [prior that] maybe we should make this decision individually because the thing is, we’re such good friends. We care a lot about each other. I was the first person to get a phone call about the possibility of coming back to Paradise, so when that occurred, we obviously talked about it. It was very difficult. It’s one thing to date somebody in your hometown a little bit more privately compared to dating someone on national television, where you have to physically watch that person maybe fall in love. That changes the game a lot, so I needed her blessing before doing Paradise again. We talked a lot about it, and we came to the conclusion that we needed to make this decision individually. And that’s what we did.”
While it definitely did seem for a while that Ashley was struggling with the idea of seeing Jared with Caila Quinn (and it could still be an issue on Monday’s episode), we know from some synopses that have been released over the past week that Wells Adams will be coming on Tuesday to potentially sweep her off her feet. That could be a turning point in how all of this drama is perceived since everyone could have a chance to take a step forward.
Ultimately, there is a part of this that just inevitably falls into the camp of “let’s just wait and see.”
