‘Major Crimes’ season 5, episode 9 video: Mike Tao goes undercover
“Major Crimes” has certainly featured a wide array of tricky and complicated cases over the years, but Monday night’s new episode “Family Law” may be up there in terms of giving you a wide array of varied content over the course of a single hour.
Let’s start with the murder: A jogger dies when they fall down the steps of the Greek Theatre. Is this an accident, or murder? One way or another, we could see an investigation that leads into the world of high-priced divorce attorneys, and from there a prostitution ring involving college students. This in turn puts Mike Tao in an extremely uncomfortable position where, as evidenced in the promo below, he has to go undercover as a potential client.
We have to assume that eventually Tao and the rest of the division will figure all of this out, but the pieces may struggle to fight together here more so than the majority of the cases that we’ve seen the team take on over time.
Elsewhere in this episode, we are going to have an opportunity to see the continuation of Buzz’s own investigation, but that’s not explicitly referenced within this promo. Therefore, we imagine that this is something we’ll just get a little bit of information about scattered through the course of the episode. That is certainly fine with us, provided of course that it makes sense and gets us closer to a fitting conclusion. We’d like to see this arc resolved before the summer portion of the season ends.
