‘Arrow’ season 5 spoilers: Exec talks more on Oliver’s vigilante team
We’ve certainly seen Oliver Queen the hero over the past few seasons of “Arrow,” and now moving into season 5 we’re seeing a couple of new dimensions. For one, we’re going to see him as the Mayor of Star City as he works to handle those responsibilities further. We’re also going to see him as the trainer, given that he’ll be doing his part to help usher in an entirely new generation of vigilantes. We don’t know too much about them just yet other than Evelyn a.k.a. Artemis, who we’ve already met, but we’re starting to get a better sense as to what separates them and makes each one of them unique.
For more on that, we turn to executive producer Wendy Mericle. Speaking to Collider, she lays out what makes each person unique; Ragman in particular is one we’re excited to see more of based on his description:
“Felicity has been tracking all of the new vigilantes in town. Evelyn Sharp, who will be Artemis, is somebody that Oliver is pretty confident that he can mold. He succeeded in turning her in Episode 419, so he’s like, “Okay, maybe her. But, this other guy? This Wild Dog guy? No idea what this guy is going on about!” Wild Dog is the one who gives him the most trouble, early in the season, and he’s also the guy who has his own dark past and is going to be dealing with his own legacy. And then, Ragman has a very spiritual identity and he comes from a place of really honoring his Jewish religion. He’s going to present some moral challenges to Oliver. He’s like a parent to these guys. They’re going to drive him crazy.”
There is one other potential crime-fighter in Curtis Holt; given his own evolution so far on the show, though, it’s fair to say that his journey will be a little different.
