Could ‘Criminal Minds’ alum Thomas Gibson land on another show soon?

The Storm -It’s rare that any actor manages to be on a hit TV show, mostly because of how many things have to go into it. You need a great concept, good writing, a supportive network, and then also a little bit of luck. So for Thomas Gibson to have it twice in between “Dharma & Greg” and “Criminal Minds” is pretty remarkable. He’s had a better two decades than probably 99% of the other TV actors out there.

With this in mind, there’s really no need for the guy to go out and snag another TV job in the near future. He’s found all of the success he could ever hope for, and given all of the headlines surrounding his dismissal from “Criminal Minds,” he may want to let all of that quiet down before starting to look elsewhere.

Can we still see Gibson starring on another show in the future? While the headlines surrounding his firing are troubling and he may require some self-examination, we certainly think so. Whether or not you approve of some of his actions, Gibson’s a talented guy. There’s no denying that. He has also done work to keep his image positive with his fans since his exit, joining Twitter and communicating both there on Instagram. More than likely there are networks and production companies out there that consider him a ratings draw. Someone at some point is going to make him an offer, in the event they haven’t already.

So if we were Gibson, we’d probably wait a few months and then look at trying something completely different, such as a period drama or stepping back into comedy. Give your fans something different, and create as much distance with “Criminal Minds” as possible. It’s obviously a huge part of his history, but the media will likely continue to dwell on the end of it for some time.
