‘Game of Thrones’ season 7: Sophie Turner on getting scripts, preparing for goodbye

Game of Thrones

The seventh season of “Game of Thrones” may not be in production just yet (we’re waiting for winter!), but we have now learned the next-best thing: Some of the cast is starting to get a sense as to what lies ahead, which puts them in a very select group of people. Only a small number of people tend to see them at this stage, and of course there’s a perfect good reason for that: You want to reduce the risk of someone poaching them and sticking ’em on the internet.

To go along with that, someone like Sophie Turner having said scripts does not necessarily mean that she will be willing to share details. In the video below (via Variety), she dances around the subject of what she knows rather effectively.

Meanwhile, she also starts to wax poetic about her time on the show, discussing to the website how she and the other members of the cast have been aware of the horizon in one form or another for a while:

“We kinda always knew it would be seven or eight seasons … It’s really sad. It’s really uncomfortable to think about my life without ‘Game of Thrones.’ Not only has it been like a family — going to see a family every summer — but it’s also been a safety net. When I finish this I don’t actually know what’s going to happen. I might slip into a deep, deep depression because I won’t know what to do with myself. It’s going to be very strange. I feel people are going to miss it dearly.”

Season 7 will premiere next summer, and presumably at around that point we will start to get a little more nostalgic and bittersweet regarding the end of it all. At present, it almost feels a little premature to be at that place.
