NBC’s ‘The Voice’ video: Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys talk stepping up as coaches!
While the new season of “The Voice” may not be premiering until we get around to September, there will be a special preview coming up on Sunday following the Olympics closing ceremony. What’s the biggest reason to do that? Well, that feels really simple: Ratings. You want to appeal to the biggest crowd possible, and you have two new crowd-pleasing personalities in the circus now courtesy of Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys.
In the latest video below courtesy of NBC, the two parties are front and center! Both relay their experience, their style, and also some of their smack-talk to us for the first time. In a tiny clip that plays out in here, Miley specifically references to a contestant that Adam has only won three times within the past ten seasons. That’s hardly what you would call a guaranteed succeed rate. The back-and-forth clearly still is there.
One other thing we’re cheering for is Miley’s awareness that there will be people who want to paint her vs. Alicia as some sort of “catfight,” or whatever it was that Simon Cowell was trying to sell on the third season of the U.S. “X Factor.” (Forgive us for even bringing that show into the discussion.) She explains that the catfight is mostly between Adam and Blake, and for the most part we do consider that to be true.
Ultimately, expect some humor, expect some actual coaching, and apparently you can also expect to see some of the coaches going up on stage and singing with the contestants. Apparently, Christina Aguilera has inspired that to be the new thing.
