TV Quick Hits: ‘Bones’ season 12, ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ scoop; ‘Comedy Bang! Bang!’ ending
“Bones” season 12 gets another acting icon – For their final season, “Bones” is really doing a killer job in the guest-star department!
Following the recent news that Hal Holbrook and Ed Asner are going to appear in an upcoming episode, TVLine also confirms that June Squibb is going to be appearing as a retirement-home resident, someone with a quick fuse who could steep to drastic measures in the event you make her angry. While we’re not surprised the producers are continuing what seems to be a theme for this episode, we’re awfully happy about it!
Curious about some other news of the day? Well, read on!
“Comedy Bang! Bang!” says farewell – For five seasons, the zany show ran on IFC, but host Scott Aukerman is making it clear now that we’re going to see it come to a close sooner rather than later. Consider this yet another dagger in a rough week for cable TV comedy. “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore” is ending tonight, and “Inside Amy Schumer” appears to be on an extended hiatus while its star works on other things.
“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” casts Brittany Snow – The “Pitch Perfect” and “Harry’s Law” actress will be appearing on the upcoming second season, and while we cannot say too much in regards to her role at present, let us at least say this: She may be getting the most epic introduction ever courtesy of star Rachel Bloom. Her casting announcement is almost a musical unto itself, courtesy of multiple locations.
The only sad news is that we have to remind you that the series is moving to the Friday death slot on The CW this fall. Hopefully, there are some out there who still remember to watch…
