‘Scream Queens’ season 2 video: The Lea Michele of it all
We’ve now seen two separate previews for the upcoming second season of “Scream Queens,” and there’s a good chance that neither one of them contains any footage of what is actually coming up for the series. Yet, each is delightfully creepy in its own way.
The first teaser, released still relatively recently, was notable for its presentation of Taylor Lautner and numerous bandages. Teaser #2, meanwhile, is notable for staging Lea Michele as Hannibal Lecter. Is this the time where we beg for Fox, Amazon, Netflix, Crackle, and anyone else who’ll listen to give “Hannibal” another run on TV? We at least tried.
This preview once again places John Stamos and Taylor Lautner, though this time the focus is more of the women: Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, and the wonderful Michele reveal at the end. In all honesty, were we Chanel we would’ve even waited around to say “oh hell no” — we’d have busted our way out of that hospital faster than many people can blink. Hester’s actions in the first season were deplorable, and we don’t quite think that we are standing up somewhere on a soapbox proclaiming that. We’ve wondered from the jump of the renewal announcement how you continue to give a voice to a character who has done so much.
The second season will air in a mere matter of just over a month, and moves us entirely to the hospital setting. We have a certain level of excitement, but also anxiousness given our experience with Ryan Murphy series is that they burst out of the gate, and then sputter along to the point that they are left gasping for air. Look at the final seasons of “Glee,” or the most-recent “American Horror Story.” That was a chapter worthy of being in a fire somewhere.
