‘NCIS’ season 14 spoilers: Duane Henry won’t return right away…
While we know that Duane Henry is going to be a series regular on “NCIS” season 14 as Clayton Reeves, there is one bit of news right now that certainly surprises us: The show isn’t going to be in a huge hurry to reintroduce him following his first appearances at the end of season 13.
According to TVLine, Henry will not return as Reeves until the fifth episode of the season, which makes us wonder whether or not the show is taking its time to come up with another creative way to include. It’s mostly just odd to us because if you’ve got a good actor, why not throw them in there right away?
If there is an argument out there to waiting to give us Henry on the show, it could be this: An attempt to space out some of the new characters as well as CBS can. Given that they also have Wilmer Valderrama and also Jennifer Esposito on the new season, that is a heck of a lot of faces to attend to at once. Maybe there is a concern that if they spend too much time introducing new or at least relatively-new characters, there won’t be enough time to focus on the case of the week. This is a show that is largely about balance, and giving fans something new while at the same time not straying too far from the show that they’ve all watched and loved over the years.
We’ll see how this strategy works out for “NCIS” a little later this fall; of course, we’ll have further news along the way.
