‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ season 11, episode 9 review: Heather Dubrow, Kelly Dodd talk sushi drama
Last time on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” we saw a beautiful birthday/vow renewal ceremony surprise for Shannon Beador all planned by her husband David. After all of the drama we have seen go down this season, we loved being part of this special event. We typically enjoy the episodes of this show that focus more on the glamour and special private moments more then the drama, so this was a treat for us.
It’s Vicki’s birthday and she has rented the Merv Griffin estate for a party, but with Vicki still being at odds with some of the ladies, we are curious to see who besides Kelly and Tamra is going to show up. We know that Shannon and David won’t be there – not just because they don’t get along with Vicki, but because Shannon and David are headed to Cabo for their second honeymoon (and we aren’t going to cover much of their honeymoon in this article since it involves seeing David Beador with no clothes on). Meghan decides that since she’s going to be out in the desert with Jim anyways, that she would make the effort to stop by. Heather is going to be a no show because she is spending the weekend with her kids… but with this estate being as massive as it is (and that Brianna’s kids are also there) we have to wonder why she couldn’t just bring them? It might be Vicki’s birthday, but she has a surprise for Briana (since it’s also her birthday) and it’s her husband Ryan! They have been apart because of his work and they have really struggled with the distance between them, so it was really nice to see them reunited.
Kelly is still upset about Heather throwing her out of Meghan’s sushi lunch and had even texted Heather the next day to apologize, but she never responded to Kelly. Why didn’t she respond? Heather’s upset that after she left the party, that Kelly was imitating her and making fun of her. Tamra organizes a dinner for her, Heather and Kelly to go and resolve their issues before Eddie’s birthday party comes up. So how did this go? Kelly tells Heather that she is remorseful for what she said and did, but that Heather pointing at her and telling her to leave wasn’t her place. By the end of this it seems that they both have a better understanding of where the other person is coming from. It’s a good start.
Heather and Kelly really needed to have this talk and with Tamra’s help it went a lot smoother then we thought it was going to go. Now we can see all of the ladies go on the trip to the dunes for Eddie’s birthday and have a fun time. Will there be drama? Of course, but it seems that it will not be the screaming and fighting variety. There may be a dune buggy accident where the EMT’s will be called in. Also, in case you are curious – we looked up the rental for the Merv Griffin estate and for one night there the price ranges from $6000 – $13000! Pure luxury. Episode grade: B-
