‘Bones’ season 12 spoilers: Ed Asner, Hal Holbrook to appear in final episodes
With “Bones” walking off into the sunset at the end of season 12, we’re glad to see that the show is finding a way to include some acting icons before saying farewell.
Specifically, a new report from TVLine notes that Ed Asner and Halbrook are going to appear in the third episode of the final season in some roles that should give them some interesting, meaty material.
For Asner, he is going to play a man named Mike Mancuso, who on the surface appears to be rather kind and easy to know. However, underneath that layer is a rather deceitful guy, someone with a knack for being crafty, super-smart, and capable of getting just about anything that he wants.
Meanwhile, Holbrook is going to be taking on the role of a Marine Corp veteran named Red Fletcher who is of the strong, silent type. The site compares him to Booth in forty years’ time. Given that we doubt “Bones” is going to conclude by jumping forward that far into the future, this may be the closest thing we get to peeking into what things could be for him down the road.
The unfortunate thing about the final season is that you’re going to be waiting for a really long time in order to see it all play out. After all, there are no plans at present to premiere things until we get around to the new year. This final season is only 12 episodes, so one way or another we’d be shocked to see it run all the way into summer again.
