Is ‘UnREAL’ new tonight on Lifetime? Season 3 hopes

Let’s go ahead and get the bad news out of the way for this particular “UnREAL” story: There is no new episode coming up on Lifetime tonight. As expected given the crazy way in which season 2 ended, the show is on hiatus, presumably until we get around to next summer.

What we though would be interesting while we sit around and wait for season 3 is to look at some elements that we’d like to see included. Note that this is more of a wishlist rather than spoilers, but we are at least trying to frame these within the realm of realism.

1. A female Suitor – It’s time for a shake-up with the contestants, and having a female lead is a great way to do that. For example, maybe you bring back a jaded Chantal from last season, or someone like Tiffany who is completely out for fame. Or, maybe you find some other desirable woman with high status who you can methodically break down like you do with some of the men. It’d be interesting to see how the show depicts male contestants in this crazy environment.

2. More Chet – Maybe you put him and Quinn into a romance again, or maybe you find a way to have him sabotage the show and get more control. Either way, you gotta have more of someone in part responsible for “Everlasting” being on the air. He was only involved in stretches during season 2, and not all of it made a great deal of sense.

3. Some sort of significant law enforcement presence – Mary, Yael, and Coleman are all dead because of their participation in the “Everlasting” franchise. The people working on this show cannot be so stupid to think that nobody is ever going to look into this further. We want a new external threat who makes everyone feel legitimately threatened about their future.
