TV Quick Hits: ‘black-ish’ on iTunes; ‘Gilmore Girls’ plans; ‘Sleepy Hollow’ premiere title
Why we’re getting “Gilmore Girls” all at once – Given that the upcoming Netflix revival series is subtitled “A Year in the Life” and is being divided up into four different parts based on seasons, it is not completely bizarre to think that the streaming service could’ve released the four 90-minute episodes at separate times. As a matter of fact, in many ways that makes more sense than throwing them up all at once.
Well, here’s the problem: That’s not something that the fans would’ve liked. Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos made his thoughts on the matter pretty clear to TVLine while at the TCA Summer Press Tour recently:
“If we would not have [released them] all at once the fans would’ve killed us … I’m petrified of those fans; they are so passionate.”

“black-ish” available for free – The second season of the ABC comedy starring Anthony Anderson was very much a vast improvement over its first, and there’s a reason why it has so much Emmy love to its name. Not only is it extremely funny, but it’s also thought-provoking.
Well, clearly the network wants you to see for yourself. Per Deadline, the second season is available now on iTunes for free between now and Wednesday, August 17. That is a great opportunity for you to check out the series now and see what you’ve been missing.
“Sleepy Hollow” premiere title – It’s “Columbia.” In a post on Twitter, writer / executive producer Albert Kim made the news official. That’s certainly a fitting name given the show’s shift in setting, though it does tell us pretty close to nothing about the story ahead.
