The third season of “The Last Ship” has definitely been a topsy-turvy one, given that there have been quite a few different crazy events taking place over the course of the past several episodes. We’ve seen death, huge revelations about Peng, and further turmoil back home as political jostling has thrown everyone into a particularly dangerous position.
So where could things go on the TNT series next week? As of right now, the network is being understandably coy with the future direction of the show, but here is what we do know: The title is “Scuttle,” which certainly suggests someone having to move around in the midst of hard times. Based on the synopsis that was released by the network Chandler (Eric Dane) will be forced to make a hard choice as to what to do when an order comes in from the White House that isn’t quite right. What he makes of it and his reaction could influence the remainder of the season from there.
While there were no other characters mentioned in said synopsis, we have to assume that they’ll still have a rather-substantial role to play as well.
We’ll be back with a few more details and context after the episode airs.
Update: Now that we’ve seen tonight’s episode, it is fairly clear that Chandler’s situation is a little easier to understand. The United States has effectively turned against him, and he has to continue to fight for what is right under what are pretty dire circumstances.
