‘Blindspot’ season 2 video: New promo hypes Archie Panjabi casting
“Blindspot” has a good bit to be proud of moving into the second season. After all, its ratings were rather solid for season 1, and to go along with that the show is getting a chance to launch Wednesday night’s lineup on NBC. It is a bold choice to move the show, which was fairly violent in season 1, to more of a family-oriented timeslot in 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, but we somewhat appreciate how this choice could force the series to be a tad more creative.
The new timeslot for the show is hyped up fully in the promo below, and to go along with that there’s also plenty of hype on one other subject: The presence of Emmy winner Archie Panjabi as a part of the cast. For the time being there are not a plethora of details available about the character, but we know her to be a part of a mysterious organization that has been watching Jane since the first season, and they may have the key to her figuring out both her past and also her purpose.
One thing we do know about Pabjabi from “The Good Wife” is that she does have a real knack for playing mysterious, fascinating character. We expect some great things from her here, and we’re also curious to see how this show can expand and experiment beyond just a tattoo mystery of the week. It’s a struggle that “The Blacklist” faced in moving beyond its typical case-of-the-week format, and we think that it is a template that “Blindspot” should follow. It may not be perfect, but it at least makes matters all the more interesting.
