‘Big Brother’: More news on CBS All Access fall edition

Big Brother -While there are many things that we still do not know about the upcoming season of “Big Brother” airing this fall, there are many that we do … starting with the fact that this is not technically “Big Brother 19.” When CBS renewed the show this week at the TCA Summer Press Tour, it was actually for two more summer cycles. With that in mind, it’s almost like the upcoming season not canon and is similar in some ways to “Big Brother Canada.” We’re exaggerating somewhat, but you should view this almost as a separate experience from what CBS is doing in the summer.

For one, this fall season is airing exclusively on CBS All Access, and based on what executive producer Rich Meehan told Zap2It, it is being done with the live-feed viewer first and foremost in mind:

“We’re working on trying to come up with something so the All Access people that watch the feeds, they can do what they love, but if you’re a broadcast watcher, there will be things for you to watch as well, so we’re still trying to crack what that is, but we want to be able to appeal to the full audience … We want to create times and schedules so if people just want to pop on for a key event, they can do that.”

Fellow EP Allison Grodner also added that there may be fewer feed blockages since nothing is being saved for a broadcast show, and that they are coming up with new and interesting ways for people to want to watch the live feeds during the day. We don’t know how the show plans on keeping this people awake when they typically sleep all hours of the day; we certainly wish them luck in that department!

It is also noted in this article that no firm decision has been made on returning players, but we really hope the network saves most of them for the fall season unless they are people like a Glenn who we are interested in seeing play, but wouldn’t really move the needle on CBS itself.
