‘Game of Thrones’ releases election parody videos with Dany, Cersei, and others

Dany -

With the seventh season of “Game of Thrones” not coming on until 2017, HBO does have to come up with some interesting ways to keep the show in the headlines. For the latest example of that, all you have to do is look at how the show is using the Presidential election to generate a little bit more attention!

In the videos below, you can see “campaigns” for several different factions within the Seven Kingdoms to eventually claim ownership of the Iron Throne. Here’s our quick-take on each one of the “tickets” the network created here.

Cersei / Qyburn – Easily the least appealing of the bunch. For one, Cersei just burned down a good chunk of her city with wildfire. Also, Qyburn is mostly just her minion known for resuscitating super-large, super-evil people. No real appeal for the 1%, the 99%, or any other percent.

Baelish / Stark – Mostly interesting in that we could see a whole campaign where he tries to get her to do what he wants, only for it to lead to questionable results. Littlefinger probably thinks he’s owed after helping at the Battle of the Bastards.

Snow / Mormont – Brilliant choice in running mate. Jon knows how to motivate the masses!

Dany / Tyrion – Probably the most likely candidates to actually win. They’re the most politically-savvy duo; plus, Dany has dragons that could burn any of the paper ballots sent in from other candidates into dust.

We know that this is all completely silly, but we hope HBO does more stuff like this over the coming months to keep us entertained.
