‘Murder in the First’ season 3 spoilers: A quick look at upcoming stories

After a week off of the air, “Murder in the First” will be returning to TNT on Sunday with new episodes, but for the sake of this article, we’re going to look beyond that for the time being and into more of the extended future.

You can see below synopses for two of the upcoming episodes this season; the main takeaway from them seems to be rather simple, and that is that the Normandy Parker case and also Siletti’s trial are probably each going to stretch through the remainder of the season. Meanwhile, the same could go for Terry attempting to sort out his feelings and fix things with Hildy after the two finally got together earlier this season, only for it to fall apart not too much later after that. (In case you can’t detect it from our tone alone, we’re very much still rooting for the two of them.)

3×08, “Daddy Dearest” (August 21) – “Terry and Hildy struggle to collect evidence against their new number one suspect. Terry attempts to repair his relationship with Hildy. The prosecution comes out swinging with an emotional witness who threatens Siletti’s chances at life on the outside.”

3×09, “Rise of the Phoenix” (August 28) – “When a promising new clue is uncovered, Terry and Hildy push forward in hopes of finally solving the Normandy Parker conspiracy. Siletti pulls out all the stops in his crusade against the very system he championed as District Attorney. Hildy’s home life continues to spiral downward as one of her own winds up in the interrogation room.”
