TV Quick Hits: ‘Nashville’ season 5 premiere hints; ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ casting, ‘Vice Principals’ tease
Does “Nashville” have a premiere date? – We want to start this article off with a very enormous asterisk attached to it, mostly because we want it to be absolutely clear that, at least for the time being, there is no for-certain start date for the fifth season. Yet, at the same time, Charles Esten seemed fine to announce at the Grand Ole Opry this weekend that the show would be returning to its new homes in CMT and Hulu in December.
The networks have not confirmed this news, which is why we’re being so cagey about it. Still, we figure that this would be a great time to start the show back given that many other programs will be starting to fade off of the air, and as a result of that, there is a heck of a lot less in the way of competition.

“NCIS: New Orleans” casting scoop – Wendie Malick of “Hot in Cleveland” fame has a busy fall coming up! She will appear on the new Fox drama “Pitch,” but to go along with that, she’s also got a role on the upcoming third season of the Big Easy version of the franchise.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Malick will play the mother of Rob Kerkovich’s character of Sebastian Land. She has a few things in common with her son in terms of his quirkiness, and has a hard time seeing him as a grown man. She will be overly protective, and worry about him often.
“Vice Principals” tease – We don’t want to say too much about the upcoming episode just yet, but let’s just say that Dr. Belinda Brown may not be the only thing that Lee Russell and Neal Gamby have to worry about next.
