‘Shark Tank’ revisited: LOLIWARE, O’Dang Hummus, Red Dress Boutique, Mikki Bey, and Splikity

Shark Tank -Tonight “Shark Tank” is repeating an episode that first aired back in the fall, and the excitement for us about seeing this one is that it has been a solid eight or so months since we’ve really looked at any of these products. That’s a substantial-enough amount of time to really see how some of these businesses have grown, and if they’re viable enough to be genuinely considered “Shark Tank” success stories. After all, we’ve learned over time that getting a deal is hardly a guarantee at victory, while many businesses have prospered even after leaving the Tank empty-handed.

For this article, we’re talking about everything from food to fashion to technology.

O’Dang Hummus – While we don’t necessarily know how much the company has expanded in terms of their distribution since the show, we like that they are incredibly on-brand on their website and social media. They realize that their product is meant to be both fun and healthy at the same time, and they’re still playing into that. The grocery industry is hard, but we do think O’Dang has built itself into a nice company after the show that knows what it is, and the customers it wants to please.

Splikity – The last time they were featured in a repeat, they had built a stronger web presence for themselves. However, we haven’t seen that much change over the past eight months, and with so many other apps out there (even for passwords), we wonder if they are starting to fall somewhat through the cracks.

Mikki Bey Eyelash Extensions – Even though Mikki left without a deal, it feels like she’s turned her studio into a nice business for herself, and certainly has a much-improved website where she explains clearly everything from what she does to the prices for them. There are even some specials for new clients. Her business is a little limited to the greater Los Angeles area, but the show probably has provided an extra boost every time it has aired.

LOLIWARE – When the show first aired, this was the clear star to us. After all, what’s not to like about edible cups? When we did our first update article on this episode back in December, we wanted to see the company utilize their social media more. Now, they are doing that and then some! They’re getting into several publications and working their way through the foodie market, which seems to be constantly expanding. Also, these feel pretty perfect for end-of-summer parties where you don’t want to throw a ton of stuff away after the fact.

Red Dress Boutique – They’re the focus of the update segment in this episode, and what else is there to say about what we consider to be one of the most successful brands in the history of the show? If you go to their website, it screams professionalism and understanding their clientele. Also, it is already ready to go with the latest fall fashions.
