‘Billions’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Zoo’ star James Wolk to appear
The second season of “Billions” will be coming to Showtime next year, and in the process of that it looks like we’re going to take a walk on the wild side … or at least get an actor known for doing so on “Zoo.”
According to Variety, James Wolk (who is also known for playing Bob Benson on “Mad Men”) has been cast in the role of tech billionaire Craig Heidecker. He’s a guy known for his innovation, though with that we of course also wonder if there are any tricks up his sleeve that he has learned in the process over the years. This is a show where almost everyone has a complicated moral compass, after all.
The strength of “Billions” through its first season came via the slow build, where we learned about Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) and Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis) rather extensively over the course of the first season. By the time that we made it to the end of the first season, we figured out what made the two tick, but how close they each were to everything falling apart. The two got better and better as the year went on, and to us one of the bigger surprises was seeing it be largely ignored over the course of the summer awards season. Maybe it was hurt by airing a little earlier in the spring, while some other shows had recency more on their side.
For those of you who are “Zoo” fans, don’t worry: There are no signs that this gig will interfere with Wolk potentially being a part of a third season of that show on CBS.
