TV Quick Hits: Hillary Clinton sets Jimmy Kimmel chat; ‘Conan’ meets Mario creator; ‘Elena of Avalor’ renewed
Hillary Clinton to appear on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” – Now that the conventions are over and we’re awaiting the debates, the next move for many political candidates seems to be hitting whatever sort of television circuit that they can. For Hillary Clinton, that apparently includes late-night shows.
The former Secretary of State and Democratic Presidential candidate will appear on the August 22 edition of the show, likely to discus the current state of her election. Given recent headlines, we’d assume that the name Donald Trump gets brought up … though we would have assumed that anyway, given that he is such a lightning rod.
As for some other interesting news of the day…
Conan O’Brien meets Mario creator – As a video gamer from a very young age, we consider Shigeru Miyamoto to be one of the most influential figures, if not the most influential figure, in the entire industry’s history. “Elena of Avalor” renewed – In shifting gears entirely, the Disney Channel has confirmed that they have renewed their series “Elena of Avalor,” featuring the House of Mouse’s first Latina princess, for a second season. The series revolves around a young woman in Elena Castillo Flores trying to navigate the trials and tribulations of her kingdom.
