‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2 spoilers: First look at Maisie Richardson-Sellers’ Vixen

LegendsWith the second season of “Legends of Tomorrow” coming up this fall, The CW has a responsibility to try to generate some hype for it now. With that in mind, we present to you (via executive producer Marc Guggenheim) the first poster featuring Maisie Richardson-Sellers’ version of Vixen.

This iteration of the character is Amaya Jiwe, believed to be a relative of Megalyn EK’s version of the character from the past. (EK was unavailable to reprise her role on a full-time basis, but will continue on the CW Seed series and could appear at some point.) After looking at this costume, it feels pretty clear that Mari McCabe may have taken some inspiration from Vixens before her given that the costume is incredibly similar. This is a very cool poster thanks to the presence of the tiger, and it’s done in a way that is rather similar to what The CW did in promoting much of the first season.

What is also of note from the network’s TCA Summer Press Tour panel is that executives are aware of some of the problems that the show had during its first season — which to us included a number of pointless episodes and a villain who rarely felt empowered thanks to the structure of the show. Programming head Mark Pedowitz feels confident that this time around, the show will correct those errors.

It was also announced that for the time being, season 2 of “Legends of Tomorrow” will have thirteen episodes, though we presume that could change based on everything from ratings to what is happening elsewhere on the network.
