‘Bachelor in Paradise 3’: Amanda Stanton clarifies Nick Viall – Josh Murray storyline
If there is one thing that any “Bachelor in Paradise” fan should know by now, it’s that the editors can manipulate almost any story that they choose. Therefore, you shouldn’t be that surprised to learn that the “drama” between Nick Viall, Amanda Stanton, and Josh Murray did not go quite as terribly as it was presented on the show.
Specifically, Amanda made it clear in a recent post on her blog that Nick actually had made it clear to her that he had some feelings that were elsewhere, and the editors chose mostly to edit most of that out in favor of playing up a rivalry.
“During our conversation [on the one-on-one date] … he told me that he had ‘an amazing date with Leah & wants to get to know her better’, but also an amazing time with me. He let me know he would be giving me his rose because my ‘maturity stood out to him’ but said he wanted to get to know Leah and I BOTH better and reminded me ONCE AGAIN that he was also ‘very excited for Jen to arrive.’ He told me he wanted to be on the same page as far as dating other people and made it CLEAR AS DAY that we were going to both explore our options. Nick didn’t do anything wrong. I appreciated his honesty with me! But this is why when Josh arrived the next morning, I didn’t hesitate to say yes to the date! I would NEVER intentionally hurt him or go on a date without talking to him first if we hadn’t had that talk the night before!”
We’ve jet to see Jen on the show, but if he is waiting for her, maybe that is where Nick will see some sparks this season. The big takeaway here is that Nick had made it clear to her before the first rose ceremony that he was fine with the two of them seeing other people, and that much of this was designed for the purposes of making the show as dramatic as possible. To a certain extent, we get it given that producers tried to milk the entire Chad Johnson situation for almost every drop that they possibly could, and the moment that was over they had to find something else to cling to. If nothing that crazy was happening, then of course they had to try to milk something far beyond what it actually was.
