‘Criminal Minds’ season 12: Thomas Gibson reportedly suspended after altercation

The Storm -Criminal Minds” is the sort of show where ultimately, you want all of the tension and the conflict to be between all of the characters who are on the show. The news that we’re reporting today is the last bit of news you ever want to hear.

According to TMZ, Thomas Gibson has been suspended from the show after reportedly getting into an argument with a writer-producer before allegedly kicking them. Deadline reports that the suspension could last for potentially two episodes, and that the entire situation is still under further review. As Gibson explained to TMZ, the incident began after a creative dispute led the parties involved into an argument:

“There were creative differences on the set and a disagreement. I regret that it occurred. We all want to work together as a team to make the best show possible. We always have and always will.”

We’re obviously not one to pass judgment, but as one of the highest-paid actors on television and a known public figure, you have to know what the limits are and that people are going to be watching your every move. The other bad part of it is that this news clouds and completely overshadows a lot of interesting stuff that has been going on as of late with “Criminal Minds,” whether it be the recent promotion of Aisha Tyler to series regular to the return of the Emily Prentiss character (played by Paget Brewster) for a number of upcoming episodes.

The upcoming twelfth season will premiere later this fall, and the challenge for the writers now becomes finding a way to change up the scripts to write the Hotch character out for a couple of episodes. You don’t want to punish him just because of an incident involving the actor behind the role.
