On Tuesday night’s new episode of “The Amazing Race Canada,” we bore witness to the continued dominance of Steph & Kristen as a team this season while also seeing the sad downfall of Julie & Lowell. We are now down to five teams, and while some of them are more threatening than others, they all have the capacity to do very well on any given leg.
So moving forward into the next new episode, the first thing that is notable is the venue: Cuba! This is a destination that has been visited before on international versions, but because America hasn’t taken that leap yet (it may be possible in the future), there is still a level of excitement from our part that comes with seeing Havana. It’s an exciting city with a rich cultural heritage, and there is some really cool stuff that could happen there.
What’s also notable is that this could be the most trying leg for the recent frontrunners. The preview showed some of the first significant conflict between the two that we’ve seen all season, but that’s not too much of a concern given that a little frustration here and there can be good. It’s only troublesome when you have them squabbling and yelling at each other every leg. From here, you’ve also got a nasty cut that could slow their progress down severely.
Do we think that they could be actually going home next week? Probably not. Usually these shows love to mislead first and foremost with these promos, and we’ve already seen them overcome adversity before. So long as they still blow through some of the tasks, they should be fine.
