‘Bachelor in Paradise 3’ review: The Nick Viall – Amanda Stanton – Josh Murray drama
Tonight, “Bachelor in Paradise” officially said goodbye to Chad Johnson (finally), and as a result of that, we have a chance now to look ahead to everything that is coming up next. After all, isn’t romance the real name of the game for this show?
We lost Jubilee Sharpe and Leah Block tonight, but given their amount of screen time this season, we’re not altogether shocked. We’re mostly just bummed about Jubilee, given that she was one of our favorites the first time we saw her, and we would love to see her stick around for at least a few more episodes. Daniel was the last guy to hand out a rose, and he decided to give it to Sarah Herron. Ironically, Chad’s bro gave a rose to the one woman Chad was the meanest to.
Now, let’s talk Josh Murray, who arrived and was immediately confident with some of the other women. This sort of thing worked well on Andi Dorfman’s season, but at the same time it came across at first as rather grating here. Also, maybe we are more sympathetic towards Nick Viall than we were at times on his two seasons of “The Bachelorette.” After seeing Chad, we’re starting to see who a real villain is through the lens of this show.
We don’t want to spend too much time talking about Josh, Nick, and Amanda, though we will say that the big winner here was probably Andi Dorfman and all of the books that she is going to sell.
Elsewhere, we bore witness to an extremely uncomfortable kiss between Carly Waddell and Evan Bass, who tried to do what they could in order to set a world record for “hottest” kiss in the world. Congrats, you guys own a really pointless record! Basically, the less of this date we saw, the better.
Given how this show is really about 30 minutes of footage stretched out to cover two hours, we don’t know what else there is to say. We were entertained at times, but also frustrated at others. Yet, we’re still watching, and will likely continue. Grade: C+.
