‘UnREAL’ season 2 finale spoilers: Shiri Appleby lays out what’s ahead
Tonight, Lifetime is ending the second season of “UnREAL,” a collection of episodes that may be just as crazy, if not more so, than the first. We’re going to see a wedding potentially with two brides, Quinn still struggling emotionally from learning she cannot have children, Rachel trying to get away from the pain in her past, and Coleman all the while doing what he can to try and burn “Everlasting” to the ground after the show embarrassed him.
Ultimately, it feels most of all like the show is going to echo the theme of season 1 in that Rachel and Quinn, while they hate each other, also love each other. They’re the two who stand amidst the chaos, and Shiri Appleby teases to Entertainment Weekly that their efforts could end up saving the show once more:
“Coleman definitely gets what’s coming to him. [Rachel and Quinn] end up coming together to get control of the situation as a united front. They definitely band together to produce the final episode of this season of Everlasting, and there’s a little bit of water under the bridge between them.”
Appleby also reiterated what we’ve heard previously in that there will be a winner to this season of “Everlasting,” but it may not be who you expect or how you expect it to happen. She also explains that one of the challenges moving into season 3 is clearly of the “where do we go from here?” variety, which makes some sense given that the show has already killed a contestant, and this season put Darius in grave danger, had his cousin shot by police, and then (to go to the other end of the spectrum) had a contestant poop themselves on a date.
