‘Once Upon a Time’ season 6 spoilers: Be prepared for some Belle family time

When the sixth season of “Once Upon a Time” premieres on ABC come a little later this fall, you’re going to have a chance to get to know many characters much better than before … eventually. While there are some new faces showing up such as Aladdin and Jasmine, the onus for the time being seems to be on the characters we already know, and their storylines in the aftermath of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’s latest actions.

For Belle, this could mean more so than anything a chance to simply wake up from her present slumber. As Emilie de Ravin notes to Zap2It, obviously this is not a position that she is going to find herself in for the remainder of the season:

“She comes out of the box. She’s back in Storybrooke … And you learn a lot about Belle and her family in the process.”

Given that we’ve only learned a few sporadic things here and there when it comes to Belle and her family life before Rumpelstiltskin, we certainly welcome whatever additional information the show does have to offer up on this subject. More than anything else, what we’d love to see is the character take more of an active role than ever before in the story. Even before Emilie was pregnant and needed some time away, the character still was tangential in some ways to the other action. We want to see her interacting more with people like Snow, Charming, and Emma, where some of the full scope of her skills can be put to use.
