‘Arrow’ season 5: What does Stephen Amell’s superhero collision-course photo mean?

We know that there is a ton of excitement out there surrounding the idea of an “Arrow” crossover with many other shows, but could it actually be happening at some point soon?

Well, we don’t want the photo below from Stephen Amell’s official Twitter account to mislead you. While clearly Amell was dressed up as Oliver Queen along the likes of Caity Lotz (Sara Lance), Melissa Benoist (Kara Danvers), Grant Gustin (Barry Allen), and Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer), we don’t think this is exactly as easy as the group all filming a crossover episode right now. It’s extremely early in filming for the upcoming seasons, and typically we don’t see a crossover event take place until the November sweeps.

Our guess is that these superheroes were all getting together in order to see a promotional photo shoot for the upcoming event, or just something for The CW in general. At this point, they are banking hard on the whole concept of getting all four of the shows on the air at the same time, and we certainly understand why given that they’ve shown to be ratings gold. Will it prove to be too much? We have to wait until the fall to find out, but for now we feel fairly confident given that they were all on the air last year, just with “Supergirl” on a different network. It’s really not that drastic of a change.

Hopefully, we will have some other updates on the crossover episodes and much more in the weeks ahead!
