MTV’s ‘Scream’ season 2 ratings: Are we any closer to season 3 renewal?
So is there a chance that it could find a way to keep that spirit going for at least one more year? For now, we have to say that we’re not completely optimistic based on at least the live+same day numbers. This past episode barely mustered a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which also has to be right around where the show is averaging for the season. Ratings are down more than 40% from season 1 in the demo, and you cannot really blame the later timeslot anymore for it.
So what can the show do to stick around? It’s mostly as simple as fighting for it, convincing some of your friends to watch, or just building up even more of a social platform for it. The little things sometimes can make a big difference, and while we’re not altogether optimistic about the show’s chances, there are certainly crazier things that we’ve had a chance to see happen over the course of the past several years on TV.
We will keep watch on the ratings over the upcoming weeks, mostly to see if there are changes as we near the finale. If there was a time for the show to try and step it up, this would be it!

If next weeks show doesn’t completely resolve who the killer(s) is, then either another season or a final tv movie is needed.
