Let’s go ahead and kick off this article on “The Last Ship” be reminding everyone of the not-so-great news: There is not a new episode coming on TNT Sunday night.
What’s the reason for that? It is fairly simple: Do you really want to go up against the first Sunday of the Olympics? It’s a tricky time to come on the air, and while this show has now been renewed for a fourth season (that’s a cause for celebration in itself), you don’t want to do anything to deliberately sabotage your own ratings. That’s never a good idea no matter how you slice it.
As for the promo below, it does do a rather great job of giving you a sense of what is coming when the show does return on August 14. We’re going to see Peng vs. Chandler in a way that we have not so far, mostly because he is now armed with former information about what Peng is planning to do using an anti-cure measure to ensure that many people do not receive it as properly intended. Things are going to get violent, and potentially deadly, rather quickly.
Unfortunately, there is another problem that Chandler does not expect: Someone may have clued Peng and company in to what is really going on. That gives you further evidence of a mole back in St. Louis, someone who is doing what they can to compromise the team. Kara seems to be on the case, but there’s only so much time at this point before everything hits the fan.
