‘Poldark’ season 2 video: See new BBC launch trailer!

“Poldark” fans have certainly shown themselves to be a rather patient bunch. The first season concluded on BBC One more than a year ago, and we are now at a point where we are finally getting a little bit more news regarding what is coming up next.

Recently, we posted the first American teaser for the show’s upcoming debut on Masterpiece, and now, we’ve got the full launch trailer via BBC One to boot! If you’re looking for a whole lot of specific plot points, this is probably not the teaser for you since it is more just a series of quick, blink-and-you’ll-miss-them highlights accented by an excellent score and a few characters sprinkled in here and there. Of course, you also have reminders aplenty of just how beautiful Cornwall is as a setting.

Do we think that this was the right launch trailer to release right now? Probably just for the sole fact that you want to give viewers a little bit of something to be excited about, but not necessarily everything right away, given that you want to give them a little something to look forward to, as well! There are still many more stories to be told this season, and we are excited to see many of those play out.

Of course, somewhere along the road here we do want to see something a little bit more substantial in the interest of giving longtime fans something to sink their teeth into. Also, at the same time there is something of value that comes from giving new fans a chance to learn what the series is about.
